Game Pitch Feedback Analysis

Gre-I Corrupted Shadows is a complicated game that is not realistically possible by a novice one man team meaning that i cannot make the game even if i had 5 years to develop it. That said the game does have some solid groundwork that can be improved upon.

The main mechanics of the game are complicated yet solid, the narrative however still needs to be completed past the third boss. The level designs need a lot of work do be done to them, I only thought of 3 boss concepts out of 10. The boss slaying mechanic needs some changes, the 3 options were somewhat acceptable when I thought of them however now that I’ve been expanding on the idea little by little i feel like i need to change it.

Feedback that i received:

“I think the unique selling point is how the title fits with the game style.”

“I like the idea that you get to take the bosses hearts to gain specific skills and combos.”

I’m glad that people like the game title and the boss mechanic choice.

The original idea i had was that the player had three options, to take the hearts of the bosses, consuming them and gain a special hysteria modes that have their own skills and combo set ,the second option was  to seal the boss in its own weapon, gaining their weapon and the spirit of that specific boss and the third option was to purify the boss, gaining their purified weapon but at the cost of getting corrupted. The hysteria mode will remain, the player will gain an extra hysteria bar separate from their stamina and mana bars, the hysteria bar will charge when taking damage, dealing damage, and landing spells. There will also be a special perk that will allow the player to either drain their hysteria bar for an extra health or trigger their hysteria when at low health for 15 seconds of immunity. The second option will be changed with the third one where the player gets to save the boss and restore them to their former self before the corruption. When the player chooses to save the boss they will gain extra skill points and the pre-corruption version of the bosses’ weapon however their health bar will decrease by 2.5% each time they save a boss. The third option will either be the choice to seal the boss in its weapon gaining a summon ability alongside the boss in its corrupted form as an ally or will be removed.

So the player options will be

1.Hysteria – A rampaging beast that will inevitably consume itself

2. Cursed Saint- A “Hero” that saved the 10 members at the cost of his own life

3. Abyss Overlord –  The ruler of the Abyss that will bring the end of all creation.
